  • May 2, 2009, I graduated from FSU Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science in Information Technology
  • Best Overall Interactive Resume, Fall 2008, Florida State University: Every student in the Perspectives in Information Technology class is eligible for this award. It is awarded to the interactive resume that best demonstrates a student's accomplishment of all curricular goals.
  • Star Employee Award, 2nd Quarter - Fiscal Year 2008/2009, Agency for Persons with Disabilities: This award goes to employees who go above and beyond the call of service. Nominations are discussed and voted on by a committee of peers.
  • Supported Employment Award, September 2006, Agency for Persons with Disabilities: In my position at the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities, I was given this award because I supervise a person with a developmental disability. I was praised for my leadership with my employee and the way I dealt with problems. This award had never been given out before; my supervisors created this award because they liked the way I supervised my employee.

Memberships in Professional Organizations

  • Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP), Florida State University Chapter

Volunteer Work

  • Lutheran Social Services (LSS), Tallahassee, Florida: During the Fall 2008 semester and between semesters, I continued my work on the servers at LSS even though I was not receiving credit at school for that work. During the Fall 2008 semester, my team and I received credit for the installation of the network at LSS.
  • ICANN Project and ICANN Too Project, Gadsden County, Florida: The ICANN Project gives children the opportunity to have a computer in their home. The computer comes with learning software that the student and parent has to install on their computer. The ICANN Too project gives adults an opportunity to become literate, receive their GED, and obtain jobs. I have worked, as needed, as technical support for the ICANN families.

Hobbies

My hobbies include working on computers and optimizing my home network. I love to learn new technologies and integrate them into my own network. If I can get something to work at home, then I can implement it elsewhere. I refer to myself as a technogeek.

Other than my computer related hobbies, I love to read. I mainly read romance and mysteries but I read the occasional biography, true story, and technical manual as well. I also collect movies. I love all kinds of movies, especially superhero movies. I am a big superhero geek!
